7-Day Uganda Primates & Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Kampala
Your adventure starts as soon as you touch down at Entebbe International Airport. We’ll pick you up and get you settled into your hotel in Kampala—time to unwind after your flight. If you arrive early enough, you can dive straight into the city with an optional tour: check out bustling markets, local art, or grab a bite of Ugandan street food. Dinner and a good night’s sleep await at your hotel.
Day 2: Kampala – Kibale National Park
Kick off the day with breakfast, then hit the road to Kibale National Park, famous for its incredible primate population, especially chimpanzees. You’ll pass through beautiful countryside and lively towns—plenty to see along the way. After lunch at your lodge, take a short walk in the forest to get a feel for your new wild surroundings. Dinner and overnight at the lodge near Kibale.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetlands Walk
Rise early and get ready for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, guided by people who know these woods inside out. You’ll come face-to-face with chimps and maybe spot other primates—colobus monkeys, baboons, and more. Later, wander through the Bigodi Wetlands with a guide. It’s a haven for birdwatchers and a great way to see how locals live alongside nature. After lunch back at the lodge, you’ll head out to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Settle in for dinner and overnight at your new lodge or camp.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Cruise
After breakfast, jump into a morning game drive across Queen Elizabeth National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, and maybe even tree-climbing lions if you’re lucky. After lunch at the lodge, climb aboard for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel—hippos, crocodiles, and birds everywhere you look. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Fuel up with breakfast, then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest—home to the legendary mountain gorillas. The drive itself is a treat, winding past tea plantations, hillside villages, and endless green views. Lunch is on the way. Once you reach your lodge, you’ll have the afternoon to relax and get ready for tomorrow’s big trek. Dinner and overnight at the lodge near Bwindi.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Eat early, grab your gear, and head to park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorilla families are hanging out. When you finally meet them in the wild, it’s unforgettable—watching gorillas up close, snapping photos, and soaking up ranger stories about their lives. Lunch comes packed for the trek. Afterward, head back to the lodge for dinner and some well-earned rest.
Day 7: Bwindi – Entebbe / Departure
After breakfast, it’s time to check out and make your way back to Entebbe. The drive gives you one last look at Uganda’s beautiful countryside and village life. You’ll reach the airport in the afternoon, wrapping up your 7-day primate and wildlife safari.
