3-Day Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali or Entebbe – Off to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your adventure starts the moment you land at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda or Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. From there, you’ll head out on a scenic drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the legendary home of mountain gorillas. The road winds through rolling hills, past green villages, and you’ll catch glimpses of local life along the way. Lunch comes served somewhere en route, and by afternoon, you’ll reach your lodge or guesthouse. Unpack, settle in, and just take a breath—you’ve got an incredible day ahead. Dinner is at the lodge, and you’ll stay overnight there.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Fuel up with an early breakfast, because today’s the reason you came. You’ll head to park headquarters for a quick briefing from the rangers, who’ll go over gorilla trekking rules and safety. Then you’re off—into the thick, tangled forest. Depending on where the gorilla family wandered, the hike can last anywhere from two to six hours. But when you finally meet the gorillas, all that effort fades away. You’ll watch them up close in their world, snap some photos, and just soak it all in. There’s a packed lunch for the trek. Afterward, you’ll head back to the lodge, unwind, and share stories over dinner. Another night at the lodge.

Day 3: Morning Activities and Departure
If you’re up for more, choose a morning activity—maybe a nature walk, a visit with the Batwa community, or even a boat ride if your lodge is near a lake. After breakfast, you’ll check out and start the journey back to Kigali or Entebbe. That’s the end of your three-day gorilla adventure.
