4 Days Malindi Beach Safari – Coastal Adventure & Marine Life
Day 1: Arrival in Malindi – Relax & Explore
Upon arrival at Malindi International Airport, your guide will meet you and transfer you to your luxury beachfront resort. Malindi offers an incredible mix of beach relaxation and coastal adventure, and your resort, set along the white-sand beaches of the Indian Ocean, will be the perfect place to start your getaway.
After check-in, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and take the afternoon to relax. Spend some time soaking up the sun on the beach or unwind by the resort’s pool. In the evening, enjoy a sunset dinner at your resort’s restaurant, where you can indulge in fresh seafood and local delicacies, all while enjoying spectacular views of the ocean.
Day 2: Gedi Ruins, Arabuko Sokoke Forest & Watamu Beach
After breakfast, your day begins with a visit to the Gedi Ruins, an ancient Swahili settlement dating back to the 12th century. These UNESCO-listed ruins are set in a lush forest and offer a glimpse into the past, with well-preserved structures and an intriguing history. Your guide will take you through the ruins, explaining the significance of the site and the ancient civilization that once lived here.
Next, head to Arabuko Sokoke Forest, Kenya’s largest coastal forest, and one of the most important biodiversity hotspots. Enjoy a nature walk where you’ll spot unique bird species, monkeys, and lush vegetation. The forest is home to a variety of endemic plants and animals, making it an exciting spot for nature lovers.
After lunch, continue to Watamu Beach, a coastal gem that is famous for its beautiful, sandy shores and clear waters. Take a dip in the ocean, snorkel, or just relax on the beach. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the beach and unwind before returning to your resort in Malindi for a relaxed evening.
Day 3: Marine Safari – Watamu & Kisite Marine National Park
On your third day, embark on a full-day marine safari to explore the beautiful Watamu Marine National Park, renowned for its coral reefs, clear waters, and abundant marine life. Start with a boat trip to the park where you can snorkel, swim, and dive in one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems in East Africa. The waters are home to a rich variety of fish, dolphins, sea turtles, and vibrant coral gardens.
In the afternoon, head to Kisite Marine National Park, located near Wasini Island. Here, you’ll experience world-class snorkeling and diving. The park is famous for its coral reefs and offers great opportunities for dolphin watching. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on Wasini Island, followed by a relaxing afternoon of snorkeling or enjoying the beach.
After an exciting day on the water, return to Malindi for an evening of relaxation, and enjoy a dinner at your resort, overlooking the ocean.
Day 4: Relaxation & Departure
After a leisurely breakfast, you can enjoy a relaxed morning at your resort. Spend the last few hours on the beach, or enjoy the resort’s amenities, such as a spa treatment, swimming pool, or a beachfront massage to unwind before your departure.
If time allows, you can visit the Malindi Marine Park, a protected area that features stunning coral reefs and is ideal for a final swim or snorkel session. Afterward, your guide will transfer you to Malindi International Airport for your flight back home.
