Ngorongoro Crater Tour

3 Days Ngorongoro UNESCO Heritage

Overview

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife spectacles. Formed two to three million years ago when a giant volcano collapsed, the 260 square kilometre crater floor is a natural enclosure supporting approximately 25,000 large animals including the Big Five.

The crater is one of the best places in Africa to see the endangered black rhino, with a resident population of around 26 individuals. Lion prides here are famous for their large manes, adapted to the cool crater climate. Hippos wallow in the Ngoitoktok hippo pool while thousands of flamingos grace the shallow soda lake.
